Jujutsu Shenanigans Beginner Guide: Survive Your First Lobby
A practical first-hour route for Jujutsu Shenanigans: lock in movement, block, dash, M1 strings, ragdoll cancel and awakening before learning flashy combos.
Your first ten minutes
- Move before you swing. Walk, sprint with
W + W, jump and side-dash so your camera and character stop fighting each other. - Hold block facing the opponent.
Fis not a magic shield behind your back. Turn toward the attack, then release it before you try to counter. - Learn one M1 string. Four clicks are enough for the first drill. Do not add four skills because the buttons are glowing.
- Save your dash.
Qis movement and an escape from stun/ragdoll situations. If you spend it as your opening hello, the first real hit owns you. - Fill awakening naturally.
Gis a comeback tool, not a reason to jump into a 3v1 with no evasive.
The fight loop
The beginner loop is approach → check with M1 → watch the reply → punish the recovery. If the other player blocks, stop hitting the block and walk away. If they dash, wait for the end of the dash and hit the landing. If they throw a slow skill, walk around it before you try to punish.
This sounds slow because it is slower than a montage. That is the point. Battlegrounds players who survive neutral get more chances to awaken, more chances to pick up map items, and more chances to see which move the opponent repeats.
Ragdoll cancel without the panic
Community guides describe using Q while holding M1 toward the opponent during a stun/ragdoll state to escape earlier. Practise it in a private server first. Dash toward the opponent when they are stuck in a long recovery; dashing away often gives them the exact reset they wanted.
Do not mash the cancel every time you are touched. Good players wait for your evasive and then start the second string. Sometimes taking the short knockdown is safer than spending your escape into a wall.
Pick a forgiving first Style
Vessel is the cleanest lesson: its M1 pressure leads into Crushing Blow and Divergent Fist, and the Black Flash timing gives you one concrete skill to chase. Honored One is also friendly if you prefer spacing. Ten Shadows and Black Death are fun, but summons add camera and recovery decisions that can hide a basic mistake.
Use the controls reference for the buttons, then follow the Vessel route. Once you can block, dash and reset without looking at the keyboard, start the skill-builder drill.
